Followers

Following a ticket or sub-task keeps you notified about it without being assigned to it. It's how you loop in the person who asked for the work, a manager who wants visibility, or a specialist who only needs to see one item.

Following something

Open a ticket or sub-task and use Add follower. You can add yourself or anyone else. Followers are managed per item — following a ticket does not follow its sub-tasks.

Everything you follow appears under Following in the left sidebar.

Access, and why it's narrow

Following grants read access to that one item — not to its project.

This is the useful part: you can loop someone in on a single ticket without adding them to the project, which would otherwise show them everything in it. A follower who isn't a project member reaches the item only by direct link from their own Following list; project and ticket lists stay filtered as before.

Followers from outside the tenant

Adding someone who has no membership in your organization provisions a minimal one for them so the app can resolve their tenant context at all. Ticku records why they have it:

RoleMeaning
VIEWERThey already belonged to this organization
EX_VIEWERA guest membership was created purely to support this follow

The guest membership carries no project membership, so it grants nothing beyond the followed item.

Who can add followers

You must be a member of the item's project to add or remove followers on it. The one exception is removing yourself — you can always unfollow something without project access, which matters for guests who were added and want out.

The candidate picker searches the whole tenant, not just the project's members, and shows a project-role badge for those who happen to already be members. That distinction is visible at the point of adding, so it's clear when you're about to grant someone access they don't otherwise have.

Notifications

Being added by someone else raises a FOLLOWER_ADDED notification naming who added you and to what. Adding yourself sends nothing — you already know.

Thereafter, followers receive the item's activity notifications according to their own notification level.

Closed tickets

Followers cannot be added to a closed ticket. Existing followers stay and can still see it; the item is simply no longer accepting new ones.

Removing a follower

Anyone with project access can remove a follower, and anyone can remove themselves. Removing a follower does not revoke a guest membership that was created for them — it stops the notifications and the access to that item.
